Thought that's not reached
Who: Paddra Nsu-Yeul & Caius Ballad
Where: The Open Beach
When: Mid-day, after the festival.
What: She noticed that he has arrived, she intends on making it
The effortless sound of the wind wisps through silvery strands belonging to Yeul, she set with her body facing the waves and the incoming tide. The ocean gave nothing to be desired, it was dark as a night sky against the blinding sun, but she was thankful that a nearby rock formation kept her out of the light. She kept her eyes closed, taking in the breeze with her long wait.
Now that she had this pitiful living body, it was in need of both heat and chill when it was necessary along with food and water. Yeul was tangible again, even in her body charged with Etro's powers and gifts bestowed upon her; she was weak and in need of protection. The pale Seeress was not without visions, but she was without the endless dying that went along with it now. She was lucky that the paradox had been resolved by her becoming a goddess.
Then again, she was a paradox again; a god with a human life. While she awaited for Caius to arrived, she kept her eyes closed until she heard his voice or some inkling that he was within her reality.

He stepped out of the shadows and made his way toward Yeul. He knew where she was by feeling her in the shadows that had surrounded her and protected her from the sun. It was a comfort to know that she knew instinctively where to go.
His heavy armor made deeper impressions in the sand with each step he made. There was no need to call his sword which was also a sign that he was ready to embrace this new life they had been granted.
He stepped into the shadows near Yeul and stepped behind her to touch her face. "I am here."

She was so tired from checking constantly until she felt a hand touch against her face; a cold, gentle hand touched her like a soft breeze against the ocean's current. Yeul jolted to life and quickly turned around, the face of pure shock was so rare that she needed to stand up on her wobbly legs. Yeul was so used to life without her strange walk that it bothered her to have it again.
Yeul placed her hand against the back of his and pressed it against her cheek. "You came for me, even now."

"Yes." He said through the silence. "I have no other home than you." Wherever she was, he was home. Their souls were connected and through time and space he would find her again. It was often a search that had no end.
The distant rolling waves of the dark water meeting the shore was a memory of pain and loss. So many times had he placed her body in the waters of Valhalla before they started their journey through time.

"This debile body was given to me but not to you, why? I am frail again." Yeul might have all the powers in the world, but she was stuck within the confines of humanity. The pain of being human again barred her with the fear of what humans could accomplish should they find greed in their hearts again. Yeul released his cold forearm, pressing her cheek into the firmness of his gloved, calloused hand. Her eyes raised slowly to find his, her mouth opened gently to release the words that she did not wish to utter again.
"I need you, I need you as I once did to keep me from harm. It is selfish to ask you this, but there is no other I could truly trust." Yeul's love for Caius ran so deeply, so terribly that she would do anything to be at his side as she was once. As a benevolent goddess, she was unable to feel the way she did as a human due to divinity. The care for the souls of the undead needed to be protected, watched over and returned to the proper cycle.
Yeul yearned for a living body, one that did not ache and wilt from visions.
Now that she needed to ask him for his service, she almost hoped that he would not allow himself to become bonded by the same shackles as before. Then again, they were the very same ones that allowed the two to be together as breathing people.

While his body remained cold, this meant his power was changing once again. He learned quickly how to control and harness the darkness, which was another defining factor of his being. The clear sign of change was his lack of body heat. He was a god, yet he still possessed the heart of a human. While it no longer beats, the spirit remained.
Her words commanded him just as she had done so in the past on Gran Pulse. Yet still, he maintained his individuality and free thought despite the bond of being tied to a dying goddess. He wrapped his arms around her from behind, just as he had done so before when they were traveling the plains of the vast planet below Cocoon.
"Perhaps the answer is as obvious as the sky above us. It is simply the way of things that cannot be changed."

"I wished to give you salvation from fighting for me." Yeul moved her delicate hands down, touching the top of his cool fingers and stroking them idly. "After so long, do you believe that we could still dwell within the lands of humans again?" Yeul, even if she did not admit it, she missed Pulse and this place reminded her of it. The small maiden broke his hold and lowered herself onto the sand again, tugging him with her hand down beside her in the shadows.
"Must I always ask you to be under servitude? Should there ever come a day where you could be free of such bondage, Caius?" Yeul looked down at her hands, staring at the strange blackness that appeared and disappeared. "Should I give you my heart as payment?" Yeul had the option, just like Etro had to offer the Heart of Chaos again. Just as she was going to start explaining, she felt a breeze whipping in the wind and it hit her directly.
The sensation of the cool breeze made her stop and she took a sigh of contentment. "It smells like home."

"You do not. It is only to give me purpose once more. I am not under bondage, it is through choice, my love." He lightly brushed her cheek and stepped around Yeul to kneel in front of her so he could have eye contact with her instead of bowing his head as he had before.
"Your heart is your own. You can give it to whomever you choose." Caius was pleased now more than ever that he could grant this freedom yet he still chose to remain by Yeul's side.
